Repeater & Simplex Gateways
Bob G3VVT has been to the repeater site this afternoon to check and tune the duplexer. It appears to be working ok at the moment but we need more testing time to determine if all is well. One of the receive filters was found to be quite a way out on its notch which explains the problem the repeater was having. Hopefully, over the next few days, the repeater will be well tested and any ongoing problems will show up.
At 8pm on Tuesday 6th February 2018 MB7IVG a 2m Allstar linked simplex gateway was powered up and became operational.
It is an FM gateway on 144.9625MHz with a 103.5Hz CTCSS. You must set your radio to narrow deviation or the gateway radio is likely to drop your connection to it.
MB7IVG is located in Long Preston, North Yorkshire and is owned and managed by it's NOV holder Vince M0VHG
Welcome to the HUBNet family of gateways Vince.
This morning I've changed the courtesy tones on the repeater and gateways to match other HUBNet repeaters.
When you transmit into the repeater/gateway and it's connected to another node, as you unkey, the gateway will reply with a morse K (dah-dit-dah) with a higher frequency of 1200Hz.
When you transmit into the repeater/gateway and it isn't connected to another node, as you unkey, the gateway will reply with a morse K (dah-dit-dah) with a lower frequency of 800Hz.
When a remote user on the network ends transmission you will hear a morse I ( dit-dit).
Vince Greatwood M0VHG received his NOV for MB7IVG today
MB7IVG will be a 2m node 144.9625MHz with a CTCSS of 103.5Hz and will be located at Long Preston in North Yorkshire.
GB3PF went live on air around noon on the 17th October 2017. It's still in testing and slight changes might be made to how it operates.
Today I received the NOV for GB3PF. It's time to sort out the installation.
GB3PF will have its original frequency of 433.0 MHz with a +1.6MHz shift and a CTCSS tone of 82.5 Hz
On 30th April 2017 I applied for an NOV to site a 70cm FM repeater in Nelson.
The requested details are call sign of GB3PF with an output frequency of 433MHz with a +1.6MHz shift and a CTCSS of 82.5Hz. The original repeater with the same call sign and frequencies was located about 10 miles from the proposed site and unfortunately went off air about 6 years ago due to site costs.
I've added a link to an interesting Allstar presentation Click Here
